What I've been up to in May

May has come and gone so quickly! The reason I haven't been blogging is that I was working on my final essays for university, and all the stress was worth it now that I've got my degree.

I also celebrated my 21st birthday in May, my cake even had candles with multicoloured flames! I'll do a big haul post soon to show you what I've been buying over May, including birthday presents in case you'd like ideas on what to get for somebody (or yourself).

Until then, here's the outfit I wore on my birthday:

The Hunger Games: Fashion Inspiration

Girl On Fire

District 4: Fishing Fashion.

District 4: Fishing Fashion. by lauren290591 featuring platform shoes

I love the Hunger Games Trilogy. After a nightmare dealing with my copies of the books when I ordered them I finally managed to read them all a while ago and now I can't wait to see the film! I've created some HG related collages that are inspired by the books/ film; the first is about Katniss- The Girl on Fire, and the second one is inspired by District 4- The Fishing District. Hope you enjoyed them!

Wizard of Oz Nail Art

Need something to brighten your day? I did. With deadlines looming and the need to procrastinate increasing I thought why not jazz up my nails. I've just purchased a Wah & Models Own nail art tool so I'm not an expert at using it (or even just painting my nails) but I wanted to use it and the Wizard of Oz inspired my nail art, hopefully it will inspire you too!

Left hand from left to right: Glinda the Good Witch, Emerald City, (Somewhere over the) Rainbow, Yellow Brick Road, Dorothy's Ruby Slippers.

Right hand from left to right: Dorothy's Ruby Slippers, Tin Man, Dorothy's dress, 'Oh My' lyrics (Lions and Tigers and Bears- Oh my!), and a Witch's hat (as worn by the Wicked Witch of the West).

Let me know if you're thinking about doing some Wizard of Oz inspired nail art!

Lauren Loves ♥: The moment Dorothy opens the door and it's no longer black and white.

Pottermore ϟ

Yes, I love Harry Potter and even though there are no more novels or films at least there's Pottermore! I luckily found the magical quill and have enjoyed many hours on the site thanks to the early entrance.

I ended up being sorted into...

which isn't too shocking considering I'm a bit crazy and a book nerd, what with the whole studying English Literature at university.

 Here's my wand info:

Love Fashion, Literature, History?

I've just started back at uni for my final year and it's kicked off a new wave of love for literature as i'm studying English Literature. I recently purchased this cool Pride and Prejudice inspired t-shirt from Topshop; apparently by buying it I also helped donate a book to a community in need through Books For Africa. Awesome, no?

I love Jane Austen, I'm a total sucker for all things old-fashioned and romantic. I also wanted to share with you my new found love for a brand called The Orphan's Arms. Seriously, check them out at www.theorphansarms.com or find their brand on ASOS. Here are some of their items I want:

Also, feel free to buy me this t-shirt... I'll be your best friend...
